Telaine's Turkish Delights
Turkish delight fat bombs which have become a staple in my freezer.
What you will need is -
- 250 grams of cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon of xylitol or sugar substitute of your choice
- Rose water
- Raspberry extract
- Pink food dye
- 75 grams of dark chocolate (Lindt 90% is my pick)
Soften the cream cheese in the microwave for 40 seconds.
Use an electric beater (I love my kitchenaide) to combine the xylitol into the cream cheese.
I then mix in 2 drops of food dye and the raspberry and rose water. This is where it's personal taste as well as different brands having different strengths of flavour.
I did 2 teaspoons of rosewater and 10 drops of raspberry into the mix. Try it as you go and see what flavour you like.
Have a baking tray or plate lined with baking paper. With two teaspoons roll into little balls, I'm not fanatic about mine being 'neat'.
This mix makes me around 30.
Put in the freezer to set.
Once they are cold through, melt you chocolate. I find 2 bursts of 30 seconds and good stirs melts the chocolate just right.
Now roll the balls in it (messy job), placing them back on the baking paper, then in the freezer.
After a while you can put them in a container and have a stock of them at the go all the time.
We have made these in soooo many flavours now. Some good ones to try are. Mint, Orange & Dark Choc (Jaffa), Maple Extract (tastes like pancakes).
If you make them please share your thoughts in the comments :)
